Chinese Studies (teaching degree)

What is an additional subject in teacher training?

The study program Chinese (teacher training) is not an independent study program but an additional subject in teacher training. This means that you can only study the course in the teacher training program and there exclusively as a so-called "third subject" in addition to the first and second subject.

You can find detailed information on the topic of extension subjects in the teacher training program on our info page on the teacher training program.

What is the degree programme about?

Just like the BA degree program in Sinology, the extension degree program in teaching "Chinese" also deals with the practical linguistic and scientific study of China. In specialized courses you will also study the history, politics, literature and culture of China and Chinese-speaking countries. In contrast to the BA program, you will also attend specialized didactic courses that teach educational science content and thus prepare you for your work as a teacher.
