Christian Media Communication (MA)

What is the degree programme about?

The three-semester degree programme (or six semesters if studied on a part-time basis) is aimed at theologists who have already completed a degree in theology (protestant, catholic or orthodox theology or related subject). It offers students the opportunity to acquire an additional Master's level qualification in the field of media.

The degree programme particularly qualifies graduates for working at the interface between the church and the media, for example in religious publishing, church PR or and conveying faith messages in media. Graduates also acquire media skills for working in schools and adult education.

What Bachelor's degree do I need to have?

A requirement for admission to this Master's degree programme is a degree in theology or a related subject consisting of usually 210 ECTS credits. Applicants with a degree of less than 210 ECTS credits but a minimum of 180 ECTS credits can be admitted if they successfully complete a special qualification assessment process.

Modules: media studies, journalism and PR, religion and media, media ethics in theory and practice, preaching in the media, practical module (media placement)

Specific conditions

The specialisation module in Christian Journalism offered by the School of Theology consisting of 15 ECTS credits can be counted towards this Master's degree programme.
