Nanotechnology (BSc)

What is the degree programme about?

Would you like to know how to develop new materials for bone replacements or drug delivery (transportation of active agents in the body) or for improving solar and fuel cells and wind turbines? Thanks to recent findings in nanotechnology such materials can be developed. Nanotechnology is considered the key technology of the 21st century. It is a new interdisciplinary discipline which combines elements of the sciences and technology. New materials and micro systems are developed on the nanometre scale in nanotechnology.

This field is already part of our day-to-day life and is an essential part of our future. Nanotechnology is used in an increasing number of industrial applications, such as energy and environmental technology, medical technology, optics, microelectronics and the pharmaceutical and automotive industry.
